Messenger Code

Messenger Code is an entry-point for people to your chatbot. Scanning the code allows you to put people through your desired flow and to subscribe to your chatbot. In this article you discover what’s possible with Messenger Codes.

Messenger Code Overview

With the Messenger Code feature you can setup multiple (and various types of) scannable codes. It enables you to capture new subscribers and directly send a Flow when people become a subscriber. Messenger Codes can be scanned to instantly link the user to your bot, no typing needed. They’re great for sticking on fliers, ads, or anywhere in the real world where you want people to try your bot.

Messenger Code Library

You’re adventure starts with the Messenger Code Library. All your Messenger Code(s) are stored in the table at Capture > Messenger Code.

The table will be empty if it’s your first time setting up a Messenger Code. In the next section you’ll get an overview of how the Send to Messenger Library works.

Library Explained

In this section of the article you find what you can expect on the Messenger Code Library page. Respectively, Name, Size, Actions, Drop-down, Search, Pagination, Bulk Actions and more.

Name

  • This is the Name you give to your Messenger Code. It’s recommended to use a Name that helps you to find your Messenger Code. back easily.

Actions

  • These are the Actions you can perform on an individual Messenger Code, currently: Download, Edit, Rename and Delete.

  • This is the size (in pixels) of the Messenger Code

  • You can change the number of Messenger Code(s) you want to appear per page by clicking the drop down in the right-upper corner. You can choose to show either 10, 25, 50 or 100 records per page.

  • In the right-upper corner you can also use the search field. Search terms are applied to all data in the table.

Next/Previous Page

  • In the bottom right corner you can view the next page or previous page by clicking “next” or “previous”. This allows you to navigate through all your records.

How to perform Bulk Actions?

You can perform Bulk Actions by clicking the check boxes – of the records you want to perform Bulk Actions on – in the first column. From there you perform Bulk Actions like “Delete”, by clicking the Bulk Actions button in the right-upper corner.

Messenger Code Preview

Clicking on any existing row in the table will open up the slider on the right. This shows your Messenger Code on top. And below it, depending on your selection, the flow, message or Get Started button screen.

Messenger Code Library – Download

You can download your Messenger Code by clicking on the Actions button in the row of the Messenger Code you’d like to download.

  • Simply click on Download to save your Messenger Code.

Create New

Creating a new Messenger Code is easy:

  • Simply click on “Create New”.
  • Please see the image below for your reference:

  • You’ll be asked to give your Messenger Code a name
  • Enter a name for your Messenger Code and click “OK”.
  • Please see the image below for your reference:

  • After clicking “OK” you’ll be redirected to the Messenger Code builder.

Setting Up Your Messenger Code(s)

In this section you discover how to setup your Messenger Code(s).

After you’ve clicked on “Create New” and you’ve given your Messenger Code a name you’ll be redirected to the builder which is depicted above.

In this section you’ll discover how the builder works.

The builder is divided into 3 sections:

  • Creation Section (first)
  • Flow Preview Section (middle)
  • Messenger Code Preview Section (last)

Select message type

Creating a new Messenger Code is really easy. S

You got 3 options:

  • Send out a Message
  • Send out a Flow
  • Send out to the Get Started button

You can preview your selection in the Flow Preview section (middle):

Specify Messenger Code size in pixels

After you’ve configured where you want to send people after they scan the code, you need to select the size of the Messenger code.

  • Choosing a size is optional
    • If you don’t select a size it defaults to 500 px
    • Supported range: 100-2000 px.

Generate Code

Once satisfied with your setup, click “Generate Code”.

This will generate your Messenger Code

More over, this will do 2 things:

  • This updates the preview
    • You can preview how your Messenger Code looks in the Messenger Code Preview section (last).
  • This makes the download button appear in the Creation Section (first)
    • You can directly download the code from this page
    • Alternatively, you can download from the Library page as well

How to Access Messenger Code

You access Messenger Code on Page Level. You click on the Capture Icon (magnet) and a drop-down appears. Click on Messenger Code to navigate to the Messenger Code Library.
